Despite the July month being over, Nokia has officially released the Nokia 8.1 July 2021 Android Security Patch Update in India and Egypt.
Nokia usually delays the Security update for Nokia 8.1 as its June 2021 Security Update was released in the last week of July. And this July 2021 Security Update was delayed to the first week of August. Place no bets on the release of this month's security update.
However, Nokia released the July 2021 Android Security Patch Update for Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 8.3 5G in the month of July itself.
The news of the latest Nokia 8.1 Software update was confirmed by the Nokia 8.1 users on Twitter. As mentioned above, India is one of the regions to receive the update.
The Nokia 8.1 was released in December 2018 with an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.

The update is based on Android 11 as the Nokia 8.1 has already received the major Android 11 update. And the size of the update is 31.69 MB. It upgrades the device's security with the July 2021 Security Patch update and reportedly fixes some known issues too.

The Nokia 8.1 was released with an Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and has received two major OS updates with Android 10 and 11.
As per Android One program Nokia is committed to offer 2 major OS updates with 3 years of security patches to its devices
Hence, it is NOT eligible for the upcoming Android 12 update and Android 11 was the last major update on the device. But it will continue to receive Security Patches this year.
The July 2021 Android Security Patch Update is currently rolling out in India and Egypt. And, it is expected to reach all the users soon.
Once it’s available on your device, you can head over to Settings >> About Phone >> Software Update section to update your Nokia 8.1 with the July 2021 Security Patch Update.
